The town of Franklinton experienced remarkable growth and prosperity during the early 1900s, fueled by the success of the Sterling Cotton Mill. In 1923, the mill’s owner gifted the community with the construction of our school—a legacy that has continued to serve generations of students for more than a century.
Over the decades, the building has evolved alongside the community it serves. It has been home to K–12 students under one roof, later functioned as a combined middle and high school, and then operated solely as a high school until 2011. Following renovations, the school reopened in 2013 as a middle school—continuing its proud tradition of excellence and community partnership.
Today, our school continues to grow as a community school of excellence. We are intentional in our commitment to student support, safety, and well-being, ensuring every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. We take pride in our strong community partnerships, which allow us to expand opportunities for students and celebrate Franklinton’s spirit throughout the year.
At the heart of our mission is a dedication to nurturing the whole child and supporting the entire family. Our close-knit environment allows us to know and care for every student and staff member personally, creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive place where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.
