Franklinton Middle School is a unique school that carries a strong educational legacy and promises our local scholars a rewarding future. Ms. Boardman is honored to be the principal, and knows that it is a gift to work with such an amazing school family.
A native of central New York, Ms. Boardman began her educational career as a teacher in a residential treatment center for boys. Along the way she spent several years as a therapeutic level foster parent, taking in teenagers who had failed out of regular foster care or were coming out of residential placements. She moved to Wake Forest in 2012 and began working as a high school English teacher at East Wake High School and then as a literacy coach. She completed the Principal Fellow program through NC State and came to Franklinton Middle School in 2018 as an assistant principal, and then became principal in 2020.
Her family is her strength and her entertainment. She has three adult children, a wonderful, supportive husband, and various cats and dogs. She enjoys reading, researching everything, going to any beach on any lake or ocean, and enjoying life with her family in all the small ways that make life the joy that it is every day.

Mrs. Terry has been a dedicated educator at Franklinton Middle School since 2013. Throughout her tenure, she has served in several leadership roles, including Career and Technical Education teacher, Team Lead for the Elective Team, Instructional Coach, mentor for new teachers, and cheerleading coach. In 2022, she transitioned into the role of Instructional Coach, where she continued her passion for supporting teachers and students and helping others grow professionally.
Mrs. Terry is dedicated to serving others and building positive relationships within the school community. She is honored and grateful to continue her tenure at Franklinton Middle School in the capacity of Assistant Principal, where she looks forward to continuing to serve students, staff, families, and the Franklinton community.
Outside of school, Mrs. Terry enjoys spending time with her family and gardening. She is proud to be a part of the Franklinton Middle School family and looks forward to making a continued positive impact on the school community.
