She moved from New York to North Carolina at the age of seven, attended Franklinton Elementary, and Graduated from Franklinton High. She later moved to Maryland and attended Medix Community College where she got her certificate as a physicians asst. She got married and has four children (all adults). She became a stay at home mom for a few years. She later became employed with Franklin County Schools as a substitute teacher for 16 years and now works as the ISS lead coordinator at Franklin Middle for five years.

Mrs. Terry has been an educator for 13 years, with 10 years of service at Franklinton Middle School. She was previously the Career and Technical Education teacher at FMS until becoming the Instructional Coach in 2022. She is dedicated to supporting others. Mrs. Terry is a mentor for new teachers and cheerleading coach at Franklinton Middle School. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
